I’m Bobbi Hansel, a Sydney-based director, editor, and animation/VFX creative. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked across everything from action-packed commercials and live broadcasts to high-end natural history and IMAX features - crafting stories for Netflix, ABC, ARTE, Love Nature, and beyond.
I started in the chaos of the “shreditor” life - shooting, directing, and editing everything from high-octane V8 Supercars campaigns, ‘food-porn’ tabletops and outdoor adventure shows like The Boat Show and Wide Open Throttle. Those years honed my ability to capture and craft stories from set through to the final frame.
Since then, my path has been a little wild:
Directed and edited the award-winning Shackleton: The Greatest Story of Survival (now streaming on Netflix)
Won an Emmy for Puff: Wonders of the Reef (Netflix)
Led post and VFX for The Kimberley and many other Wild Pacific Media landmark series, delivering cinematic graphics, maps, and animation for global broadcast
Built Ninja Factory as a creative hub for high-end VFX, animation, and story-driven post-production, specialising in natural history, science, and visually ambitious projects
My focus now? Big-screen storytelling and world-class visuals. Whether it’s animating our planet like you’ve never seen it before, pulling AI into the creative space with a human touch, or bringing to life our next feature doc project and animated shorts series, I’m about stories that stick and visuals that elevate.
